Yes, my friends, that much-loved time of year has arrived when Cory and Elise Holman open their pumpkin patch at 12926 Center Road, about a half-mile north of Island View Road on the right.
They are now open, and as always, have a wide assortment of pumpkins, gourds, squash, cornstalks and other fall goodies. They will also have cider and doughnuts on the weekends. There is nothing like a pumpkin patch in October – especially Cory and Elise’s Pumpkin Patch!

It truly is a family affair, with several generations of the Holmans helping to set up and look after the patch. And this year, there is a brand new little pumpkin in the patch by the name of Henry, Cory and Elise’s new little baby. He is such a sweet little guy and very much has that Holman look!
The Holman farm has a very long history on the Old Mission Peninsula, which you can read more about here. I love that Cory and Elise are carrying on the tradition of farming on the Old Mission Peninsula.
If you have questions, feel free to call them at (231) 492-9019, and also check out their Facebook page here. And be sure and visit Garden Goods in Traverse City, which they acquired in 2021.
Here are a few photos of the crew this year, including Baby Pumpkin Henry.

A NOTE FROM JANE: I started Old Mission Gazette in 2015 because I felt a calling to provide the Old Mission Peninsula community with local news. After decades of writing for newspapers like the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, and magazines like Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, I really just wanted to write about my own community where I grew up on a cherry farm and raised my own family. So of course, I started my own newspaper. Because the Gazette is mainly reader-supported, I hope you'll consider tossing a few bucks my way if I mention your event, your business, your organization or your news item, or if you simply love reading about what's happening on the Old Mission Peninsula. Check out the donation page here. Thank you so much for your support. -jb
So glad to see OMP supporting locally grown products!
