This week in photos includes two very special people I ran into at the Library’s Used Book Sale – Tim Carroll and his sister Michelle.

Tim says he’s doing great at Bay Ridge Assisted Living – if you’d like to send him a note, the address is 3825 Scenic Ridge, Traverse City, MI 49684. He says he appreciates that there are more women than men there, because we make better dinner companions.

Barb Soullier also kindly let me take her photo at the Book Sale – she was volunteering in the carriage house, and we talked about the cookbook section (she’s a dietitian). The sale runs through Wednesday.

Lon Johnson has flowers for sale at Rosie’s Farm on Swaney Road. If you’re heading north on Center Road, take a right at Swaney and his farm is just down the road on the left.

At Old Mission Flowers, on the corner of Center Road and Ladd Road, Ginny has tons of beautiful blooms for sale, including gladiolus, snapdragons and sunflowers. The colors are spectacular!

A new farmstand is taking shape on the corner of Center Road and Blue Water Road — Secret Garden, part of Brys Estate on Blue Water Road. They also have a shop on their main farm farther down Blue Water Road.

I finally made it out for a hike at Old Mission Point State Park (that’s the new name, adding the “Point” in – it’ll take me a while to glom onto that), so I’ve got a few photos from that.

Earlier this year, the little trail going out into West Bay by the Lighthouse was nearly above ground again. Now the water level is up again, and just remnants of the trail remain. For now.
