Well, Hello September!

The Parks Committee (PkC) would like to hear your feedback as a Bowers Harbor Pickleball player. Our pickleball community continues to grow, and we’d love your feedback. We’re seeking input on court reservations, scheduling, maintenance, and volunteer opportunities. The survey takes just a few minutes to complete, and your responses will help guide future decisions and improvements to enhance the experience for everyone. To fill out the survey, click here.

The PkC is in the process of updating signage at all township parks. They have completed Pelizzari Natural Area and Archie Park and are continuing their way north. Additionally, the PkC has been working hand-in-hand with the Michigan DNR regarding Old Mission Point State Park. They are starting to implement the DNR requested changes.

Updates From Down The Hall

The Treasurer’s Office: Just a reminder that the due date for summer taxes is quickly approaching. Monday, Sept. 14, is the last day to pay without incurring interest. This includes payments walked into the office, payments left in the drop box and online payments. Peninsula Township DOES accept postmarks, but if you are waiting until the final day, please be sure to walk your envelope into the post office and ask to have it postmarked right then. Putting the envelope in your mailbox or a blue post office box does not guarantee it will be postmarked that day.

Looking Ahead To Next Week – And Beyond

On the agenda: Discussion of Cunningham-Limp Initial Report for Future Fire Station #1, Grand Traverse County Sheriffs’ Millage for 2028, Special Assessment Districts for Private Road Maintenance and more.
