Covid-19 Memorial Tree Planting @ Peninsula Community Library

Have you lost a friend or loved one during the Covid-19 pandemic? You may be interested in the Memorial Tree that the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society (OMPHS) will be planting on the grounds of Peninsula Community Library.

A special Memorial Tree planting will take place on Saturday, August 28, at 10 a.m. on the front lawn of the library in remembrance of those who’ve lost their lives to the pandemic.

If you’d like to submit the name of a friend or family member lost to the pandemic, or perhaps a brief anonymous message, the OMPHS will place that information on a small, biodegradable card to be buried with the tree – symbolically becoming part of the life of the tree. A stone with a simple memorial plaque identifying the tree will be placed at its base.

If you’d like to submit a name or a message, complete the form here. All information submitted will remain confidential, and any contributions to the OMPHS are voluntary.

    We Need Your Support!
