The annual “Log Cabin Day,” historically on the last Sunday in June, has shifted this year to August 29, 2021, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Now called “Harvesting History,” the event hosted by the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society will include traditional crafters and demonstrations, as well as tours at a variety of OMP locations, including the Hessler Log Cabin, Mission Point Lighthouse, Dougherty Mission House and the Log Church, located just north of the Old Mission General Store.
New locations this year include the History Room at Peninsula Community Library, the historic “Council Tree” location, Old Mission Congregational Church (to be determined), and Peninsula Fire Station No. 3. Stay tuned to the Gazette for more info to come.
